Polaroid

The Polaroid series is a new collection that, much like the Misfits, will continue to emerge as a recurring theme throughout my work. For convenience, I refer to them as the Polaroids due to their format and proportions, which are identical to those of a Polaroid. Additionally, the colors and lighting evoke a sense of nostalgia and longing within me. I find it fascinating to witness how my subjects gradually materialize almost out of thin air. Nothing becomes something, and I have no control over it. That feeling is what I paint in these series. That's the essence.

For the most part, they are stories. Images, snapshots that could have been taken anywhere, anytime. Nothing posed. The rawness of life as it is, with good and bad days. With beauty and horror intertwined.
